I&#039;m enjoying your posts enormously, and am learning about a lot of stuff I missed, like the Mekons and the Saints. Sometime in the late &#039;80s I stopped keeping up with rock. I didn&#039;t like speed metal or noise metal, and thought I had enough of a legacy from the &#039;50s, &#039;60s, and &#039;70s to keep  me happy through my middle age and beyond. Generally, any list is (as long as it doesn&#039;t include any Danny Elfman).  Seriously, my taste isn&#039;t based on any snobbishness or elitism; it&#039;s simply that, as someone who has made music their life and living for 35 years, I&#039;ve been exposed to a lot of music.
