If anything in my post implied that I thought yours was “based on any snobbishness or elitism” that wasn’t my intention. I’m enjoying your posts enormously, and am learning about a lot of stuff I missed, like the Mekons and the Saints. Sometime in the late ’80s I stopped keeping up with rock. I didn’t like speed metal or noise metal, and thought I had enough of a legacy from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s to keep me happy through my middle age and beyond. You’re helping me to make up for lost time.

Generally, any list is (as long as it doesn’t include any Danny Elfman). Seriously, my taste isn’t based on any snobbishness or elitism; it’s simply that, as someone who has made music their life and living for 35 years, I’ve been exposed to a lot of music. This list is as good as mine, and even better, it exposed me to something GREAT that I had NEVER heard before (Mike Heron).
