Chris wasn’t around for the last tour in 90-91 (quit/fired) so according to Einstein here that wasn’t a “proper” lineup either, something I certainly don’t remember being tossed about back then. The simple truth is that what we’ve seen the last two years is more “real” than the hollow shell of a band limping to the finish line in 1991. There’s no doubt in the mind of this longtime fan (dating back to the beginning) of what version of the band is more “real” and which one is more worth seeing. While it’s understandable that some “fans” have a romanticized notion of what the band should be they ignore the fact that Mars has long retired from music and wouldn’t fit in with the current lineup any better than the author of this tortured treatise (dude, seriously, you should’ve just quit after voicing your initial opinion – the convoluted calculations put forth to discern the legitimacy of various reunions was as incomprehensible as it was laughable). Mars’ extremely active and successful art career is a testament to where his priorities have been for quite some time. To attempt to delegitimize the current lineup because of something that is never going to happen is just painfully stupid and betrays a total lack of knowledge about the dynamics of the surviving band members.

Can’t wait for Tim to tell the truth about. Husked Du. Hint: they sucked too.

Reunion tours are ultimately disappointing to those who saw them in their prime. Plenty of great, relevant bands out there worth seeing.

Dude wrote all the goddamn songs…

This isn’t about math. It’s about chemistry.
Point me to some modern rock that doesn’t have at least one foot in Westerberg’s shoes.
