Thank you for putting into words what it was like for so many of us watching Lance every week. It was as if a UFO had come to return us to our home planet. I would only take issue with the commenter below. “Non comical”? Lance was the funniest human I’d ever seen. I would actually write down things he said each week and try to remember the way that he said them. And by singing it while laying across the top of a piano, he also turned me on to the Kinks’ “When I Turn Off the Living Room Light”. All of this was huge to a 17-year-old.
